On the occation of your first birthday - with all my love ouma Corrie
Once upon a time, there was a little raindrop.
His name was Petrichor.
It was a very special name that God gave to Petrichor.
Petrichor (in the Greek language) means the lovely smell of fresh falling rain.
Petrichor lived in the fluffy white clouds up in the sky, close to God.
He was such a very happy little raindrop.
With all the other raindrops, he loved jumping from one cloud to the next.
Sometimes they play catch or hide and seek amongst the clouds.
Oh, they had so much fun and laughter.
One day, looking down to the ground far below Petrichor saw a house with some pretty flowers in the garden.
He thought to himself, “I want to jump down and rain upon the flowers”.
“What a good idea!” he said.
So, the very next day when the sun was shining brightly, and the wind was softly blowing, Petrichor packed his backpack and was ready to jump from the cloud when he heard God speaking to him.
"Hey mate, where are you going?"
God asked.
“I want to jump down to earth to rain upon those pretty flowers in the garden,” Petrichor replied.
“But I want to God. It is a very good idea”
Petrichor replied.
God said, “Actually Petrichor, I do not want you jumping down to earth”.
And so when God was not looking Petrichor jumped from the cloud.
God then told Petrichor “There is actually something else; something very special and important I want you to do”
But Petrichor thought to himself “what can be better than raining upon flowers? Is that not what raindrops are supposed to do?”
Oh, no! Petrichor was falling very fast indeed.
Faster and faster, closer and closer to the ground.
Petrichor became very frightened.
As he fell he bumped his head against a tree.” Ouch!” he yelled.
Next, he bounced off the roof of the house.“Ouch!” he cried out loud, “that hurt!”
Oh NO NO! Instead falling onto the flowers, Petrichor fell down very hard onto the ground.
"Oh nooo! What have I done?" cried Petrichor
