On January, 17, 1899 in Brooklyn
New York, Alphonse Gabriel
Capone was born to Gabriel Capone
and Teresina Raiola, immigrants
from Italy.

Al Capone had 9 brothers and
sisters, James, Raffaele,
Salvatore, John, Albert,
Mathew, Rose, and Mafalda.
They all lived in this apartment
at 38 Garfield place in
Brooklyn.

He was an average student, but very
disobedient and showed a lack of
respect for authority, he was expelled
from his catholic school for hitting a
teacher in the face and dropped out at
14. As a teen he worked in stores
around Brooklyn where he
met gangster Johnny Torrio,
whom he viewed as a
mentor.

He became involved with small gangs
like the Junior Forty Thieves, and the
Bowery Boys. But then became a
member or more dangerous gangs
including the Brooklyn Rippers, and the
infamous Five Points Gang in
Manhattan. He became employed by
gangster Frankie Yale who worked as a
bartender at a Night Club in Coney
island called the Harvard Inn.

After Capone insulted a woman while
working at a nightclub, the womans
brother, Frank Gallucio, attacked
Capone with a knife, the scar left behind
gave him a name he hated, Scarface.
He later hired
Gallucio as his
body gaurd.

At the age of just 19 with the consent of
his parents Al Capone married Mae
Josephine Coughlin on December 30th
1918. Earlier that month on December
4th they had thier first son Albert
"Sonny" Francis Capone. Sonny was
born with congenital
syphilis witch left him
partially deaf.

Johnny Torrio was imported by bootlegger
James "Big Jim" Colosimo to go to Chicago
as an enforcer. Johnny invited Al who was
then 20 years old to come to Chicago with
him. He then became a bouncer at a
brothel were he contracted syphilis, but
never sought treatment. After Big Jim's
murder (capone being a suspect) Torrio
took over his bootlegging empire with
Capone at his side.

Chicago mob funerals.

Thier crime group at the time was the biggest
in the city. Concerned with gang wars Torrio
tried to negotiate with rival gangs over
territory. The Irish North Side Gang, run by
Dean O'Banion, felt threatened by the Genna
brothers, who were allied to Torrio-Capone,
when they intruded O'Banion's territory.
O'Banion became angry that Torrio didn't act
upon the Genna brothers. Torrio then had
O'banion killed in his flower shop by the
Ghenna brothers. Hymie Weiss took control of
the North Side Gang and prioritized revenge on
O'Banions killers.

In January 1925, Capone was ambushed, but
unhurt. 12 days later Torrio was shot
multiple times, after he recovered he
resigned and left Capone, now 26, the boss
of his organization that took in illegal
breweries and transported alcohol as far as
Canada. With political and law enforcement
protection he used more violence to increase
revenue. When somebody refused to make a
purchase we would blow their buissness up
or have them murdered.

Capone was called snorky, by his
closest friends, witch meant a
sharp dresser. He bought custom
suits, expensive cigars, gourmet
food, alcohol, and prostitutes. He
was known for his expensive
flamboyant jewelry. He was
becoming an infamous celebrity.
