Pyramid is called Akhet-Khufu" - "the Horizon
of Khufu" (or more accurately "Relating to the
sky - (it) Khufu"). Consists of blocks of
limestone and granite. It was built on a natural
limestone hill. Once the pyramid has lost
several layers of lining, this hill is partially
visible on the East, North and South sides of
the pyramid.
Despite the fact that the pyramid of Cheops is
the highest and most voluminous of all the
pyramids of Egypt, but Pharaoh Sneferu built
the pyramids in Madame and Goshute (Broken
pyramid and Pink pyramid), the total mass is
estimated at 8.4 million tons
Originally, the pyramid was faced with more
solid than the basic blocks of white limestone.
The top of the pyramid crowned gold plated
stone - pyramidion (other egip. "Benben").

The lighthouse was built on the small island of
Pharos in the Mediterranean sea near
Alexandria. This busy port was founded by
Alexander the Great during a visit to Egypt in
332 BC and the Building was called by the
name of the island.
the lighthouse was built to ensure that ships
could safely pass the reefs on the way to
Alexandria Bay. At night they were helped in
this reflection of the flames, and by day a pillar
of smoke. The lighthouse stood for nearly a
thousand years, but in 796 ad, was badly
damaged by the earthquake.
Subsequently came into Egypt, the Arabs tried
to restore it to the XIV century, the height of
the lighthouse was about 30 m At the end of
the XV century by Sultan qaitbay was erected
on the site of the lighthouse of the Fort that
stands today.
The construction of the Mausoleum began even
before the destruction of Mausolus in 359 BC
and, according to ancient authors, was ruled
by his wife Artemisia. For the design of the
Mausoleum she invited Greek architects Satire
and Pipea, and the most famous sculptors of
the time - Leochares, skopas (which was also
decorated and the second Temple of Artemis at
Ephesus), Breaksea and Timothy.

The location of the Mausoleum and the
material (brick, faced with proconnesian
marble) we have the testimony of Vitruvius.[2]
the Architecture of the Mausoleum is unusual
for Greek architecture of the time: if a classical
Greek temples in rectangular and their height
does not exceed the length of the facade of the
Mausoleum in the plan is almost square, and
its height was much higher than the base.
Halicarnassus was on the sea,
surrounded by mountains
semicircular depression. On
almost a straight line of coast
was located the harbour, which
was attended by many ships
from different parts of the
Mediterranean and black sea.
A more correct name for this building -
the Hanging gardens Amitis (according
to other sources - Omanis): it was the
name of the wife of the Babylonian king
Nebuchadnezzar II, for which the
gardens were created.[1].
Presumably located in the ancient state
of Babylon, near the modern city hill.
According to an alternative version
based on the repeated deciphering of
the cuneiform tablets that could be in
Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian
Empire, and were built in the beginning
of VII century B.C.
The Babylonian king
Nebuchadnezzar II (605-562
BC) to fight against the main
enemy of Assyria, whose
troops was twice destroyed the
state capital of Babylon,
entered into a military Alliance
with Cyaxares, king of the
Medes.
Having gained the victory, they
divided the territory of Assyria
each other. Their military
Alliance was confirmed by the
marriage of Nebuchadnezzar II
to the daughter of the median
king Amitis[en].
Dusty and noisy Babylon,
located on the bare sandy plain,
did not please the Queen, who
grew up in the mountainous
and green Mussels. To comfort
her, Nebuchadnezzar ordered
the construction of the hanging
gardens.
The construction of the temple
took about 10 years. But the
statue of Zeus appeared in it
immediately. The Greeks
decided to invite the famous
Athenian sculptor Phidias, to
create a statue of Zeus.
Phidias had managed by this
time to create two famous
statues of Athena ("Athena
Promachos" and "Athena
Parthenos"). None of his
creations to our time have not
survived).
At his order, a workshop was built in
80 metres from the temple, which
exactly correspond to the size of the
temple. There he worked on the
statue of Zeus along with the
student Kolota and brother
Prenom[1] for a huge purple curtain
and made a statue of the God of
thunder in chryselephantine
technique.
