Once upon a time, in a far away land,
there was a little thing called a
prohibition. A Prohibition was when, the
famous drink root beer was banned,
because men were going
out and getting sugar rushes from the
root beer. Then, they were going home with a
sugar rush and hurting their wives because
they were so hyper.

All the men and women protested because they
couldn't live with out their favorite drink, root
beer. The protesting did nothing and root beer
continued to be illegal. People couldn't live
without their root beer, so people called
bootleggers traveled far across the land to
countries where root beer was not banned and you
could buy as much as your little heart desired.
Once the bootleggers got the root beer, they would
sneak it into the United States.

Since there were so many people
sneaking root beer into the United
States. Play places for the adults were
made, they were called speakeasies. At
speakeasies the adults would drink as
much root beer as they could, while it
was being hidden in the play places.

Speakeasies were places that any adult
was allowed to go to, although most of
the time there was a specific type of
person that would be found there, these
people were called the flappers.
Flappers were very free and didn't
listen to the "normal" rules of being a
lady.

So many people were going to the
speakeasies, so they needed to get a lot
of root beer for the speakeasies. To get
such a large amount of root beer,
people would travel to far away lands
with big trucks and boats to bring all of
the root beer back to the United States.

Flappers went out at night and drank root beer,
rather than staying home. These women were also
known to wear very short dresses or skirts, that
they would dance in all night. The flappers didn't
want to be like other women, they wanted to think
and do for themselves.

Although root beer was banned, some
police disagreed with the law. Some
police went to speakeasies just like
everyone else, to hangout with their
friends and drink root beer.
