During the start of World War II in Europe,
Germany didn't want to be involved in another long war.
But Germany quickly conquered quite a bit of Europe
and was successful in their battles for over two
years by depending on a military strategy called
the "Blitzkrieg" (Lightning War).

Example of Blitzkrieg. Germany.

Blitzkrieg strategies require a combination of
tanks, air crafts and other weapons. These
weapons would force the enemy's defenses to go
back, which allows the tanks to enter in quickly and
roam inside the enemy lines which causes confusion
for the enemy. In the air, the air force would stop
the enemy from resupplying their weapons. Now
the tanks and planes could thus round up the enemy
and force them to surrender.

Germany used Blitzkrieg strategies during the Battle of
Britain. Germany continued to bomb London at night. At
one point London was bombed for 57 nights in a row.

Germany used the Blitz. strategy in many of its
battles and it often led to victory. For example,
Germany effectively used this technique against
Poland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands,
France, Yugoslavia, and others. Germany was
not able to attack Great Britain because it was
protected by Royal Navy.
