Once upon a time there lived a monkey
named Pinky.
Pinky lived with his friends on a tiny island
in the south seas called Honeycloud.
One Saturday morning while Pinky was eating a
delicious banana and thinking about what he
would do that afternoon, his friend Jones the
Pineapple came to visit.
Pinky opened his banana bag to offer Jones a
banana but found that he had only one banana
left. Being a generous monkey, Pinky decided to
give the last banana to Jones.
Jones normally preferred hot dogs, but he could
eat bananas when he was really hungry.
After finishing their bananas, both Jones and
Pinky were still hungry, so they decided to go to
the beach and search for more.
At the beach, Pinky found his favorite magical
banana tree and climbed up to pick some more.
while Jones tried to keep his banana out of the
sand.
When Pinky reached the top, however, he could
see a tiny object shining at the other end of the
beach. What could it be?
Pinky and Jones walked towards the end of the
beach to find the shiny object.
When they finally reached the end of the beach,
the two found a beautiful gold lantern that was
decorated with jewels!
They wondered where the lantern had come
from.
Did it belong to Esmeralda the Sea Queen? Could
it have come from Shell Island or Pirates Cove?
Maybe it was lost treasure?
Whatever the case, Pinky and Jones decided
that it would be better to bring the bottle back
with them.
But the moment Pinky touched the lantern it
began to shake and spin. It spun faster and
faster until suddenly there was a big BOOM and
smoke was everywhere.
“I AM THE GENIE OF THIS LAMP”
bellowed a voice. “WHAT ARE YOUR
THREE WISHES?”
Three wishes? Three wishes? It was so
wonderful. Here, Pinky and Jones had only
come to the beach to look for more bananas,
but now?
Now they could have anything they wanted!
Both Pinky and Jones thought for a long time
about the things they might want. And thought…
and thought…
Until… they began to get hungry again. And all
each could think of was…
Their favorite things!
