Lacplesis originates from Bear's mother. While he grew, he quickly developed into a large and young man. He inherited the bear's ears and great strength from his mother, therefore he was named Lacausis.
In the first years as the young man, he cleaned up the father's house around the carnivores; bears, wolves, wild pigs, grabbing them behind the jaws and tearing them. So he got the name Lacplesis.
Later, when he has no longer an opportunity to use his force in the house, he travelled around the Baltics looking for work. But all that he did was overwhelming, so he broke all the work things.

So, once he was a landlord near the Daugava. When people climbed on the float, he began to ride, but immediately with the first trains, the addles broke down, and float would be pulled in a flow and broken, if Lacplesishad not used his wrists instead of paddles: with them he began to row so hardly, that the float turned away from flow and happily pulled over on the other side of the river Daugava.
Then he bet with some lord to be his worker. The lord made him to do all kinds of hard work: to flour wheat in devil mills, to build a sunken castle, to scar away a giant, etc., continuing to promise his beautiful daughter to be his wife. Lacplesis has done everything and unleashed the earth from all kinds of monsters.

At the end, the lord could no longer avoid, and Lacplesis got his beautiful daughter as his wife and lived happily for some time.
