as well as the outstanding

representative of pure

abstract painting

(using only colors and forms)

that dominated the first half

of the twentieth century.

Kandinsky, the father of abstractism, considered the compositions as the most important statements of his artistic ideas. He studied the relationships between colours, shapes and sounds by painting abstract figures in oil that could be presenting pure art.

Some indications of how to interpret his works

are expressed in ''Spirituality in art " focusing on

spirituality; Kandinsky highlights a correspondence

between emotions and colours such as the energy

of red, the warmth of yellow or spiritual quietness of

blue. The sensations expressed by him are perceived

by the spectator who is enabled to imagine any

real theme own experience without any limitation

to imagination. In the 10th and last composition,

figures are seen floating on black background: this

feature distinguishes his works from the other works;

Kandinsky considered black as the silence of death,

like a long pause after the conclusion of a symphony.

This painting expresses the idea of depths of the sea

where water pressure creates a gloomy atmosphere

without light and where very small organisms float.

The life that reigns in these depths is forgotten by

the size of the ocean, just as some groups of people

are forgotten and considered inferior. We recall that

this composition is from 1938 after publishing Hitler's

racial laws. Kandinsky achieves the most concrete

reality possible in the beauty of abstract art.
