One day Rupert, the alien, was eating breakfast (pancakes with wood chipping cream on top) while thinking about what to do that day.

Suddenly, he got an idea and stopped mid- pancake. He would try to make some friends. You see, Rupert was lonely.

Then he climbed into his space ship and flew off. He looked far and wide for a planet but on all planets there were no aliens. He had nearly given up hope when he saw another planet so he went on it.

He circled around it twice and then landed.

He landed in a big city in a place called London and looked around. There was nobody. He was about to turn back to his home when he heard a shout.

"I don't want to shower!" said the voice. "Nor do I," said Rupert. Then he heard footsteps and a small boy came running out.

When he saw the alien he screamed but Rupert said "Hello my name is Rupert." "Hi Rupert," replied the boy "My name is Max".

"Will you be my friend?" asked Rupert. "Of course," replied Max. "What should we do?" "What about hide and seek?" said Max.
