Hi, my name is Ash.. and today me and you will be taking a trip around the Ring of Fire.

    You may ask, what is a "ring of fire? "

The "ring of fire" is where there is most of the Earth's volcanic activity. Volcanoes often occur along the boundaries between the tectonic plates of Earth. 

Now friends.. Lets travel to Washington State. There, standing tall at 8,366 feet tall is Mount Saint Helens. This volcano girls and boys, is one of the 450 volcanoes mounted around the "Ring of Fire."

Alright guys, leaving Mount St. Helens... next stop, Mount Pinatubo. Philippines here we come!

Did you guys know that in 1991 Mount Pinatubo erupted? A volcano that is about to erupt may produce warning signs before the eruption. Some warning signs include earthquakes, rising temperatures around the volcano, new steam and ash rising from the surface, or even a bulge in the volcano where the magma is trying to push out! Scientist can use these warning signs to know when volcanoes about to erupt.

What you should know about volcanoes, guys; is the damage that can be done. The hot ash, steam, rock, and lava that leaves the volcano is very destructive. Anything or anyone in the way will likely be destroyed. Look at that lava flowing on the next page!
