Meet Ali and Lena! They are members of a tour group called Travel and Learn. They both like travelling.

They met in Azerbaijan in January. Ali is planning to visit his friends this month. His first destination is Poland. Lena will meet him at the Warsaw Airport this afternoon.

Ali is so hungry...

Lena is sure that Ali will love Polish dishes.

...and Lena starts listing all of the mind-blowingly delicious soups, meals and desserts.

Zurek is regarded as a national treasure by the Polish.

 It consists of sour rye flour with potatoes, plenty of vegetables and lots of meat. 

BIGOS

The principal ingredients of bigos are assorted kinds of meat and a mixture of sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) and fresh white cabbage.

PIEROGI

A small dough dumpling stuffed with a filling such as potato or cheese and typically served as a dish with onions or sour cream.

ZRAZY

Classic zrazy has a rolled shape and is made of thin slices of beef, which is flavoured with salt and pepper and stuffed with vegetables, mushrooms, eggs and potato.

Gołąbki

It is seasoned meat and rice wrapped in boiled cabbage leaves and then baked with a light tomatoey sauce.

Probably the most popular lunch / supper in Poland is the almighty ‘schabowy’ with mashed potatoes and pickled cabbage
