“I remember that trip, because I liked everything, especially the food and the visit to the zoo. I won four medals like in Los Angeles in 2015 ”, details the weightlifter born 28 years ago in Puyo.

The Special Olympics Ecuador Foundation chose him as the best of 2019 for the three gold medals and one silver that he achieved at the World Games, which were held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with the presence of 7,000 athletes out of 192 nations.

In powerlifting, unlike weightlifting, you have three modes. One is deadlift, in which you lift the bar off the floor to the height of your extended arms and legs. Another is the 'squat', where you take the bar and lift it over your shoulders and perform a squatting exercise. Finally there is the bench weight, where the athlete leans on a bench.
