FAT THURSDAY
Polish people feast every year during Easter for 40 days in order not to eat animal foods. Fat Thursday is celebrated on the last Thursday before this feast. This is seen as a great opportunity for people to consume foods that should not normally be consumed. When Fat arrives on Thursday, all Poles eat their favorite sweets and candies. Poles often eat Polish donuts called Pączki or Faworki, a pastry covered with candy.
WET MONDAY
When it comes to the strangest traditions celebrated in Poland, Wet Monday is definitely in the top five. On wet Monday, boys wet the girls with water. Even special events are organized across the country for this.
