A plain, in the country of Mauritania, a small baby leopard is born by the name of Leo the leopard.

As the mother and Leo travel the vast land, they encounter a village full of hungry Africans.

The African stabbed the mother leopard.   The mother died leaving Leo all alone now. 

As the baby leopard travels through the big world by himself, he travels through the hot desert. During his journey he ends up at the historical ruins called the Chinguetti

 Leo then travels towards the country of Mali and encounters a vast landscape of sandstone plateaus. In the distance, he can see a broken-down empire of Chinguetti. Chinguetti is important to him because they helped his grandfather find his parents.

Leo walks into the empire, expecting someone to be there but no one was there. It was a ghost town but he saw a person in the back. An old man. He spoke with Leo and gave him knowledge of how this empire of Chinguetti has fallen and was around a long time ago. 

As he gets to Mali he sees huge plateaus and is very interested as how they were made but only finds legends of how they were built. 

He sees all these different places talking about Mali. He wants to know more and goes to this huge structure where he was taught about how Mali flourished of of trading salt and gold.

Leo sees a river he wanted to travel down, but he couldn't swim. Suddenly a native of the Mali Kingdom got a boat and helped Leo travel down the Niger river on his way to Nigeria.

 Leo enters the Songhai empire which travels through west Africa. He sees a native of the empire here, and that person greets Leo. The native teaches Leo about trading gold, leather, and salt from all across the world. 

Leo travels to mountains known as Tibesti mountain. He is amazed by their size and begins to adventure up it. On the way he sees many detailed crystals and rocks shining. When Leo arrived at the top, he sees a beautiful view of the sun setting as the clouds start to cover it. 

 From the top of the mountain Leo sees the ruins of the city of Kanem-Borno. While there he talks to the tourist guide and learns that they were a good trading empire. He then learns that the Empire lasted from the 9th century to the 19th century.
