Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution states, “The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.” It describes one of the presidency’s most controversial powers: executive clemency, which gives the president the power to pardon individuals convicted of having committed a federal crime.

Once upon a time, not long ago,
there was a grandiose kingdom, Democracia. The whole world knew of its greatness, as the fairness of the royal family was respected by everyone. The rules were strict, but forgiving, and everybody knew not to break them.

there were consequences.

The thieves,
the bullies,
the liars ...
all would answer in front of the “Keepers of Peace,” a group of smart men and women who were masters of the rules. Their knowledge was drawn from this great book, “The Constitution”, which was passed down through the generations.

The Constitution
The keepers would listen to the accused, and determine what kind of consequence to enforce, whether it be making them do some tasks that would better and benefit the kingdom, or lock them up for some times, in order for them to reflect on their mistakes and become a better citizen.

I confess...
There was one exception to the rules. A loophole that would allow the bad people, or those who were wrongfully locked up, to be set free, without finishing their sentence.
This magical free card was called “The PARDON.”

Very few people knew about it, but it was of utmost importance and controversy.
