Written for COUN 559-Play Art Therapy . A story that can help children who are adjusting to moving to new cities or homes. Issues touched on are validation of feelings associated with a big move such as sadness as well as potential positives and reframes.

This is so different. I miss my old house. 

Danny moved to a new city and into a new home. Danny felt sad because she missed her old home.

My old house didn't have a fireplace. I like this!

Daddy and mommy told Danny it was ok to miss home . Daddy suggested they sit and drink hot cocoa  near their new fireplace. Danny still missed her old home but sitting by the fireplace with her parents was fun and made her feel better. 

I have no friends here.

At school Danny felt sad when she remembered that she couldn't see her old friends. 

A friend!!!

Hi. I'm Jane want to play.

During class Danny met Jane who asked Danny if she would play kickball with her during recess. Danny still missed her friends but making a new friend made her feel better.
