The Perfect Costume

Every October 31st is the Halloween bash.

And every year, I am stuck on the same path. 

My parents always want my sister and I to be matching.

But this year, I want to be eye catching.

I am finally 6 years old. 

And all I want is to be bold.

But what will be the perfect costume for me?

I ask my friend Emily for help.

But what she says makes me yelp.

A Vampire is what you should be! 

But I am scared of blood and fangs,

This is not the perfect costume for me.

My mom tells me to not be a dummy,

And be her favorite character - a mummy! 

But what if my customer tears, 

and I am left all bare?

I tell my mom I do not agree; 

This is not the perfect costume for me.

My dad is named Tommy. 

And he tells me to be a zombie. 

But zombies are my biggest fear! 

I cannot be that this year. 

I think we can all agree that 

this is not the perfect costume for me. 

I go to my Grandma to find support. 

And her answer is very short.

She wants me to be a robot.

But that's the outfit that my friend Joe just bought!

Matching outfits cannot be.

This is not the perfect costume for me.
