Once upon a time, there was a bear who slept under a big tree. He was happy, but whenever it rained he got cold and wet. One morning he was sitting under the sun after a particularly strong rainstorm trying to dry his coat off.
That's when his friend the gopher came and asked what wrong,
“My coat isn't meant for all this wind and rain!” the bear grumbled out." (personification)
'
“Yeah, that sounds like no fun at all.”
“Well, what do you do to keep dry when it rains?”
¨"I just go into the burrow I dug and I’m as cozy as a pig in a blanket” (simile)
“That's no help you see, my claws are made for slicing and dicing, not for shoveling and digging!"
The two thought and thought and finally the bear roared, "I have an idea! Why don't you dig me a burrow?”
“I can't make a big bear burrow all by myself (alliteration), I'll have to recruit some friends." the gopher replied.

So the little gopher went around and recruited every gopher, mole, groundhog, and vole he could find and told them his plan to make a giant burrow for his bear friend.

They find the nearest mountain and work tirelessly all day and night and finish just in time for the next rainstorm.

They went to the bear and showed him his new home and the bear cuddled up and slept all night as warm as a bug in a rug.

After seeing how happy it made the bear the gophers, moles, groundhogs, and voles kept making big burrows until every big creature in the forest had a warm and cozy place to sleep.
These big burrows are what we know today as caves, and that is the story of how all the caves were made.
