Strategy 1:     Guest Speaker

Definition: 

        a person invited to a gathering to give a speech

How to use this in Physical education: 

        Have a guest speaker come and talk to the children about how physical education is important. Or if able have a college/professional athlete come and speak about exercise. 

Strategy 2:  Word Wall

Definition:

         a collection of words which are displayed in large visible letters on a wall, bulletin board, or other display surface in a classroom. The word wall is designed to be an interactive tool for students and contains an array of words that can be used during writing and reading.

How to use this in Physical education:

        Put up a word wall in the gym and have the children bounce a basketball while spelling, saying, or defining the words. 

Strategy 3:  Direct Instruction

Definition: 

        Direct Instruction is a term for the explicit teaching of a skill-set using lectures or demonstrations of the material to students

How to use in Physical education:

        Explain in full details or show the children what is expected of them for the set activity. 

Strategy 4:    Effective questioning

Definition:

        using questions in the classroom to open conversations, inspire deeper intellectual thought, and promote student-to-student interaction

How to use in Physical education:

        Have the children dribble a basketball and ask them a questions and have them try to raise a hand while still dribbling the ball, and answer the question. Also ask them to explain their answers to the person beside them.

Strategy 5:

Modeling
