THE PUYUNA FAMILY

The story supposedly happened in 1980 and María Elena learned it in 1999.

It is said that the Puyana family is one of the richest families in Bucaramanga, Santander, but it is rumored that this prosperity did not come directly from the family's efforts, it means from natural capital, and there was something murky and creepy on that money.

Years ago, around 1950, the Puyana family was humble and hardworking, this family did not have much economic income. However, one day the father, an old and tough man called Don David got tired and decided to have money overnight.

The man one day invoked the devil and asked him:

-Don David: Sir, I want to be a millionaire

-Devil: I will give it to you, just with one condition (answered the devil): you have to give me your soul within 10 years.

Don David: Okay, there is no problem, but you have to make sure that future generations of my family will be wealthy as well (answered Don David)

As time passed, the Puyana became rich, they had everything such as cars, houses, farms and lots of money; but the man forgot the treatment with the devil. The day came to give his soul to the devil, but he repented; The devil, furious with the man, said that if he did not go with him, he was going to take away his most beloved child from him, and the man did not believe him.

Then the devil, seeing the irony of the man, came out through the window of his luxurious house, and since then that window is rebuilt but it always falls, even if it is freshly placed. Surprisingly, the Puyana are still one of the richest families in Bucaramanga.
