Exploring Colombian myths and legends.

A long time ago, in the Burgua path, near Chitaga, there was a greedy, rude, stubborn, and ill-tempered man who never pitied the others’ tragedies. The poorest peasants used to turn to him, looking for his financial support to bury a neighbor, friend, or family member. However, the rich man always seemed unpleasant before the situation, claiming not to be rich enough for providing his help.
When the heartless and lonely man died, his neighbors, who were kind-hearted people, assumed the burial expenses, building in that way a humble coffin with the purpose to bring the man into the village for his funeral honors. Nevertheless, carrying the coffin turned out to be extremely laborious work due to the man’s weight.
