"Chinese New Year"

A thousand years ago, there was a sleepy monster named Nuien who would wake up on the new moon and eat all the food in the city. A wise man taught the people how to scare Nuien away with red lanterns, firecrackers, and loud music. This tradition became Chinese New Year.
