There are two types of grasshoppers: short horned and long horned.  Gary and I are short horned grasshoppers. 

This is my friend Gus.  He is a long horned grasshopper.  What differences do you see between short and long horned grasshoppers?  

Grasshoppers live everywhere in the world except for Antarctica.  The place where a plant or animal lives is called its habitat.  

Grasshoppers are herbivores.  Herbivores eat plants.  My sister, Grace, is eating a leaf.  That is our favorite food.  I think I'll join Grace for some grub!
