There once was a boy named Jason who loved school.
He loved reading.
He loved writing.
But most importantly, he loved math, and it was something he looked forward to every day.

It'll be okay, I will put on my favorite outfit to make today better!
The weekend came to an end.
Monday came along and he woke up to a cold and rainy morning.
"I'll be okay, I will put on my favorite outfit to make today better!"

After he changed his shirt, he noticed there was a hole right in the front, and all his other clothes were dirty, so he had to put on another shirt that wasn't his favorite.
Jason looked frustrated, but told himself,
"It'll be okay! I will have some of my favorite cereal before I get on the bus, that will make today a little better."

After Jason brushed his teeth, he head downstairs to eat his cereal, only to find that it was empty.
Jason started to feel a little bit sad and gloomy just like the weather outside, but he was trying to stay positive.
"It'll be okay. I will see my friend Anna on the bus, she will make me feel better."

Jason gets on the bus trying to find Anna, but it seemed like Anna was absent for the day, so he had to sit by himself on his way to school.
Jason was having a hard morning.
"My favorite shirt is ruined, my favorite cereal was empty, and now my favorite friend won't be at school! I don't like how I look."

When Jason got to school, he looked really sad.
"I don't want to be at school anymore," Jason thinks to himself, "I would rather be at home."
As he approached his classroom, he was stopped by his favorite teacher, Miss Decker.

???
"Good morning Jason!" Miss Decker says.
"Good morning," Jason says grumpily to her.
Miss Decker is confused at his response but can tell Jason was having a rough morning just by his body language and frustrated face.

"I really like your shirt today, Jason!"

Before Jason walks into the classroom, Miss Decker compliments Jason's outfit.
"I really like your shirt today, Jason!"
Miss Decker makes sure she compliments every student before they head into the classroom.
Morning Meeting Circle!

Around 10:30, Miss Decker tells her students it is time for the morning meeting circle.
"Today's activity is to give a compliment to someone next to you. Hey Rachel, do you want to start and give Jason a compliment?"
"Sure!" Rachel says excitedly, "Jason, I love how nice and helpful you are to your classmates."
Jason smiles and feels very appreciated after the compliment and starts have a better attitude.
