About the Author

I have been a student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School for the past 4 years. I am enrolled into the EStem Academy. I'm the oldest out of 3 siblings. I drive a yellow mini cooper with checkers on the sides. I plan to attend UC Berkeley and major in psychology to become a therapist.

The crime occurred on April 19, 1989 in Central Park, New York City. The victim's name is Trisha Meili.

He was apart of the Central Park Five; five black and latino youth boys were falsely convicted of sexually assaulting a white female jogger. The names of the boys are; Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, and Korey Wise. The only evidence the police had were coerced confessions that were videotaped made by four of the five boys, Salaam was the only one who had a written statement.
