"I got an 88!" exclaimed William
"I got a 100%" said Simon
"Oh.. um that's great.. I am really happy for you..," said william
William walked away from Simon feeling very jealous and tho-
ught to himself, "Ha! how did he get higher grade than me?"

called all the students into a circle to share one object that was really special to them.
"Simon, why don't you present first?" said the teacher.
Simon got up very slowly, holding something shiny in his hands.
"This golden coin was given to me by my best friend, William Dane.
I think he is just as great as this golden coin!"
William faked a smile to cover his jealousy towards Simon.
"Oh, that was so sweet of you, Simon!" said the teacher.
After the presentation Sarah came over to Simon and said,
"Your presentation is the best of all the presentations! I think your gold coin is cool!"
Overhearing them, William came over and said,
"It was actually my coin, I just gave it to him because I had many...if you want
I can give you one, too," said William.
"That really is very nice of you, William! Oh Simon, don't forget to come to
my birthday party this Saturday!" said Sarah before rushing over to the door of her class.
"I won’t forget. I’ll be there.” shouted back Simon.
This was enough to make William burst within himself “ He gets better grades than me,
he is taller than me, and the girl that I like,
likes him more than me! Why does he get everything!”
William said to himself quietly."You just wait Simon, let's see who is greater then!” (evil smile).

There were balloons, games, and desserts, and everyone was having a great time.
That was, when Mr. Paston, Sarah’s dad, informed all the kids not to go to the upstairs office room.
All the kids continued to whatever they were doing, except William.
William could not stand seeing Simon with Sarah, and felt like a loser.

On the table there was a large, wooden box with intricate carvings.
When he opened the lid there was a beautiful, small crystal flower placed
carefully on a cream, silky cloth. William’s eyes was shocked.
He put the crystal in his pocket and went downstairs.

“Yah, where did you go?” said Sarah.
“I…” hesitantly said William.
“Happy Birthday Sarah!” said Donna as she hands over a present that was wrapped with red gift paper.
“ It is my favorite book, How to Heal a Broken Wing by Bob Graham.”
“Thank you, Donna! Have I showed you my new books? Come I will show you. Bye guys!” said Sarah.
“So where were you Will” asked Silas.
“I..ah..I just went to the restroom,” replied William.

Here hold my bag for me!” said Simon.
Williams smiled and shouted, “Simon, we definitely did not need to know that!” as Simon ran upstairs.
“This was perfect,” thought William as he very carefully snuck the crystal into Simon’s bag.
“I am sorry Simon, but you are just gonna have to go”.
Just then Simon came downstairs.
“Thanks Will,” said Simon.
“Oh you're welcome, after all it is the least I can do for you!” replied William with an evil laugh.
“Ummm...ok..you know what...I am..I am going to get some juice” said Simon with a puzzled look on his face.
“Drink up pretty boy, you will need all the energy you can get!” William said under his breath.

Mr. Paston “kids...KIDS!, who went upstairs and took my crystal flower!
It was a gift from Queen Elizabeth to my grandmother!”
“Simon, didn’t you just go upstairs now?” William loudly asked.
“I did not take his crystal, I mean why would I want it anyways?” said Simon
“Oh, what is this Simon? There is something bulging in your backpack” said William with a hidden evil smile.
