My grandmother lives in Derbyshire in a lovely old house above the town of Matlock. My family have been going there every summer since I was three years old.

My first happy memories of playing outside, surronded by  nature, are of that place near Matlock. 

When we were children, my sister and I always stayed with my grandmother for a month in the summer holidays. We loved going there because we were usually outside from morning till night, playing on the open moor in the sunshine, or in the shady woods near my grandmother's house.

We played hide-and-seek for hours and I remember the sweet smell of summer flowers as I lay in the long grass, waiting for my sister to find me.
