The Bigger Bears

Kenny the Koala and Peter the Panda were best friends. Kenny was a small bear, and Peter was in a wheelchair.

One day at recess, Kenny and Peter could not find what they wanted to do.

They looked around the playground and saw some bears playing basketball.

Perfect! Animals just like them doing something they wanted to do too!

Kenny and Peter walked over and asked Grady the Grizzly, Blake the Black bear, and Paul the Polar Bear if they could play too.

"Why would we let you two play?" Blake scowled. "Yeah, you are too small" said Paul to Kenny.

"And you can't shoot a ball from a wheelchair!" Screamed Grady at Peter.

"Can't we just have a chance?" Peter pleaded.

"Yeah we can play too!" Kenny added.

"No, now go away!" said Grady.

Kenny and Peter did not know what to do. They went over and talked to their favorite teacher, Mr. Tucker the Turtle.

"They said that we can't play because I'm too small" Kenny exclaimed.

"And they said I couldn't shoot from my wheelchair" Peter stated.

"Well that does not seem quite right" Mr. Tucker said. "Did they even give you a chance?"

"No, we never even got to hold the ball" the boys explained.

"Let me see what I can do" said Mr. Tucker.

Mr. Tucker walked over to the bigger bears. He asked if he could play with them.

"Of course you can, Mr. Tucker!" the boys yelled. "You are our favorite teacher!"

Mr. Tucker grabbed the basketball and made three baskets in a row. The boys were shocked!

"You're awesome, Mr. Tucker!" the boys yelled excitedly. "How do you do it when you're small and different?"
