Hi, Anna It has been a long time, I miss you so much!

How are you and your family?

Anna:

God, Hi The Earth. My family and I  are doing well, but recently people are facing Covid - 19  pandemic which is from Wuhan, China, so everything is turned upside down compared with before.

That disease is very direful  and brings many dangers to human.

The Earth:

That's the truth, Many people lost their loved ones and collapsed because of it.

Anna:

What a dreadful thing to happen!  

The Earth:

I was deeply saddened to hear this.

The Earth:

But  Covid doesn't just bring negative things to everyone, you know? 

Anna:

Why do you say so? It caused so many deaths and awful things.

Earth:

Normal day, my body is constantly being burned by exhaust gases from factories. Smoke from vehicles is all using fossil fuels that make my health badly affected. Furthermore, global warming due to the releasing of methane gas is larger than permission  and causes the melting of ice in the Arctic and Antarctic.

The greenhouse effect has damaged the ozone layer and destroyed forests quite gravely. I keep getting hotter day by day. It hurt me a lot, Anna.

The Earth:

But after 15 years, my skin is becoming better. It means that the ozone layer is recovering by itself. Due to the lockdown, the amount of emissions and toxins from vehicles has been decreased. Especially in China, it is up to 50% in reducing of CO2.

Anna:

That’s amazing!

The Earth:

That's right, Anna. After this epidemic, global warming decreased after 100 years. Thanks to this disease, total CO2 emissions will decrease by 2.4 billion tons in 2020 compared to 2019, equivalent to 7%. This is something that I didn't expect!!!

The Earth:

This is an abnormal reduction. Thanks to the impact of the covid pandemic, traffic activities have been greatly reduced.

The Earth:

Do you know about the Himalayas in India, Anna?

Anna:

Yes, I do. I heard that it has been a long time since the people there couldn't see that mountain range.

The Earth:

Yes, the Himalayas have not been seen for a long time because the amount of dust and exhaust gases are so high that cover up the mountains.

The Earth:

But after only 21 days of the blockade to prevent the spread of the Covid pandemic, the factories were closed and transportation stopped working, which made the pollution decrease, so now we can see the Himalayas after more than 30 years.

Anna:
