Hi! My name is North America. I am one of the 7 continents on earth. I have 3 different countries living on me. First is Canada, and it is the second-largest country in the world. Next, I have the United States, which consists of 50 different states! Finally, I have Mexico, which shares the 2nd largest border in the world with the United States. Let's not forget about my island friend, Greenland. Greenland is the largest island in the world!

I am surrounded by 3 different oceans, the Pacific Ocean the Atlantic Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean. Oceans are large bodies of saltwater. The Pacific Ocean is located to the west of the United States. While the Atlantic Ocean is located to the East. I also have the Gulf of Mexico which is between the United States and Mexico. A gulf is a part of the ocean extending into the land. 

Let me tell you about some cool landforms you can find in Canada. Canada is the Northernmost country on me. Canada is the second largest country in the world!

A really important Candian Landmark is called the Canadian Shield. A shield is an exposed portion of the Earth. The Candian Sheild is one of the largest shields in the world! It covers most of Canada. 

Another key landform in Canada is Niagra Falls! It is located between the United States and Canada. This Waterfall consists of 3 different drops. They are called the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. 

Another very important part of me is the Appalachian Mountains. They extend all the way from Canada into the United States. These mountains were first formed over 480 million years ago! They are 2, 200 miles long! That is like 38, 720 football fields!

These are the Great Lakes. There are 5 of them and they are between Canada and the United States. They contain 21% of the Earth's freshwater. The Great lakes are composed of Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Ontario, and Lake Erie. 

Another key feature that can be seen on me is the Rocky Mountains. They stretch all the way from the northernmost part of western Canada all the way to New Mexico in the United States. These mountains were formed 80 million years ago. They are 1, 900 miles long!
