Druid was walking through the woods one day when he passed an owl in a small tree. 

“Druid,” said Owl, “Come hear what I must say.”

“This tree, while sickly and thin, is destined to be the Guardian of the Forest one day. You must care for it every day so that one day it can protect these woods. Without your help, the tree will surely die.”

“Why, Owl,” Druid replies, “Should I help this tree when it is so close to death. My time could be better spent helping the forest on my own.”

“You may not see it yet,” Owl said, “but this tree will do more good than you could do on your own.”

Druid heeded Owl’s words, and began to care for the young Guardian of the Forest.
