Introduction

So first of all, what exactly is climate change? Did it change its name from global warming? Is it false information that NASA had created? Has global warming gone away since we still have cold days? These are all myths and misconceptions about climate change, also known as global warming. These pieces of information that may sound convincing are called fallacies which is a technique used by the myths to distort the facts.

These days, there are still people who do not believe that global warming is happening. According to Pew Research Center, a median of 9% of the people around the globe do not think that global warming is not happening, or is not a threat. We people living on Earth need to combat global warming as a serious issue.  

What are the major causes of global warming?

There are many causes of global warming, such as breathing that we do every second to live. What are the major issues that we need to combat?

The three major causes of global warming are deforestation, increasing intense agriculture, and the emission of greenhouse gasses by burning fuels. These reasons are all related to one thing: the increase in the world population. According to the world economic forum, the population has increased from 600 million to 7.7 million in just 3 centuries. which is more than 12times the population.

Deforestation

Deforestation is one of the main causes of global warming. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and store the carbon and emit oxygen. By destroying forests, it causes carbon dioxide to stay in the air and causes air pollution. Trees also control the level of water in the air to regulate the water cycle.

 In deforested areas, there is less water returned into the soil from the atmosphere, causing desertification and infertile soil. Additionally, there will be a loss of biodiversity. The habitats of the animals will be destroyed, and the conditions will change extremely, making it impossible for the animals to live once again. The major reasons for deforestation are for live stocks and clearing land, which is hard to find alternatives.

Increasing Intense Agriculture

The increase of intense agriculture is another huge factor in global warming. Because of the population increase, there is a higher demand for food supply across the globe. Growing crops require a tremendous amount of fertilizers emitting nitrogen oxide, a harmful gas to the environment, also a greenhouse gas.
