On August 19, Nolan was getting ready for his first day of kindergarten! He was so excited, but also very nervous... how was he supposed to go to school without his mom?!

So, Nolan decided to tell his mom that he was no longer going to school!

"Mom! I am not going to school today. I cannot go without you."

"Nolan, you have to go to school. You will have so much fun with all your friends!"

While in the car headed to school, Nolan decided to hide his back pack and tell his mom he forgot it at home.

"MOM! I forgot my backpack at home!"

"Nolan! Your backpack was right here, under the seat."

Nolan's mom stopped the car and got out to look for his backpack before going all the way back home.

Once they finally made it to school, it was time for Nolan to say goodbye to his mom for the day.

"I am going to miss you, mom. I love you!"

"I will miss you too, my son. Have a great day! I love you, more!"

Once Nolan made it to his class, he got to meet his teacher, Mrs. Kelly. 

"Hello! I am Mrs. Kelly! What is your name?"

"My name is Nolan. "

As soon as Nolan got into the classroom, a little boy named Eddie came up to him, but Nolan was still feeling a little shy.

"Hi! I am Eddie, what is your name?"

"I am Nolan."

As Nolan and Eddie were taking their seats, Mrs. Kelly started talking....

"Hello students! Welcome to kindergarten! To start the day off, we will be introducing ourselves to the class! I want you to say your name, age, and your favorite thing to do at home! Let us start with you!"

When it was Nolan's turn, he got in front of the class and started to introduce himself!

"My name is Nolan. My favorite color is blue and my favorite thing to do at home is to play cars with my mom."

After Nolan introduced himself, everyone started clapping! Other students started saying they love to play cars with their moms, too and Nolan got a warm feeling inside his heart! He felt happy!

When recess finally came around, Nolan was so ready to play! He started bouncing on the trampoline when Eddie walked up.

"Hey Nolan! Do you mind if I play with you?"

"Sure! What should we play?"

Nolan and Eddie played the whole recess together! Nolan was having so much fun, he forgot that he missed his mom!

Now, it was time to go back inside and finish the day. Nolan and Eddie ran as fast as they could to the door to go back to class!
