In London, in the year 1856, lived a Butcher’s son named Eli. 

Eli was a tall, blonde-haired

teenage boy, who dreamed 

of becoming an Explorer like

Captain Cook. 

One day, a Captain named Roberts asked Eli to travel the seas together, to find a rare plant.

So, they set sail on the ship- HMS Salute.

Boom! Crash! Bang! 

Suddenly a bolt of lightning hit the ship and left it stranded on the reef. “Oh no!’’ cried the Captain, “The ship is destroyed!’’ 

Thump! Eli jumped, rocking the ship and blurting out good news, “There is land ahead, let’s drag the ship there!’’ 

A few hours later they landed. “That was so rough, I think I need to puke,’’ said Eli bending down. “We need fresh water,’’ demanded the Captain. Eli agreed. 

So, they went trudging on to find a lake. “Ah…so refreshing,’’ they both said thankfully.

Without warning, there was a horrendous screech 

Kaw Kaw! 

Circling over them, was a mythical creature named the Griffin -a very rare animal ready to attack. Its Eagle like head and lion body swooped down at Eli and the Captain. 

Running as fast as they could, screaming their heads off, they unexpectedly came to a dead end beside a canyon.
