One Friday afternoon Anabell was sitting in 

her grandmother’s kitchen watching her bake 

her favorite sugar cookies. She sits on the 

bench by the window and watches the 

snowfall. The neighborhood children are 

running outside laughing and playing in the 

snow, making snowmen. 

Anabell brings her attention back inside and 

watches as her grandmother takes out the last 

batch of cookies so warm, soft and sweet. 

Anabell thinks, “It would be great to have 

Matty and Lucas over!”

Anabell goes to ask her grandmother and she 

says it's alright as long as they clean up after 

themselves.

Anabell is super excited and gives them a call. 

Moments later Matty and Lucas come to the 

door. Anabel is so excited to see them. Her 

grandmother’s dog, Lady is barking, excited to 

see them too!

They walk into the kitchen and see that 

Anabell had been making cookies with her 

grandmother again.

"Hey Ana, how about we make some cookies?" 

Lucas says. "I bet they will come out just as 

good as your grandmother's" Matty adds. 

Anabell is skeptical of the idea. "I guess we 

could since we have all of the ingredients.

I’ve been watching all morning I think I know 

what to do.” Matty thinks “Yes and I can help!”
