SABİHA GÖKÇEN

Sabiha Gökçen was born in Bursa in 1913. After the death of his father and mother, he was adopted by Atatürk, who visited Bursa in 1925. The surname "Gökçen" was given to Sabiha Gökçen by Atatürk with the enactment of the surname law in 1934, when he had no interest in aviation yet.

Having studied at Çankaya Primary School and Istanbul Üsküdar Girls' College, Sabiha Gökçen entered the Turkish Bird Civil Aviation School of the Turkish Aeronautical Association in 1935. He received his high gliding certificates in Ankara. Gökçen was sent to Crimea Russia with 7 male students and completed his higher glider training there.

He entered Eskişehir Military Air School in 1936 and became a military pilot after receiving special training there. He did an internship in the 1st Aircraft Regiment in Eskişehir for a while and flew with fighter and bomber planes.

Sabiha Gökçen made a Balkan tour with his plane in 1938, at the invitation of the Balkan states.
After his return to Turkey, he was appointed "Head Teacher" to Turkish Aeronautical Association Türkkuşu, and he continued this duty successfully until 1955.
Sabiha Gökçen, who went to the USA upon invitation in 1953 and 1959, introduced the Turkish society and Turkish women.

He received the highest award of his aviation career in 1996. He was chosen as "one of the 20 Aviators who made his name in World History" at the ceremony at Maxwell Air Base, where he attended as the honored guest of the Eagles Meeting held for the graduation ceremony of the American Air Staff College. Gökçen became the first and only female aviator to be awarded this award.

National athlete, female weightlifter. Olympic and World Champion Turkish female athlete. He was born on October 29, 1983 in Ankara. Originally, he is from a family from Sivas. He was discovered by coach Mehmet Üstündağ when he was 11 years old.

Although he was a civilian who served alongside Mustafa Kemal at the front in the War of Independence, he was considered a war hero by taking the rank.

SAFİYE ALİ

Turkey's first female doctor and the first female faculty member to teach at a medical school, was born in Istanbul in 1894.
After graduating from the American College for Girls, Safiye Ali's biggest dream was to become a doctor, but in those years, Istanbul Darülfünun Faculty of Medicine did not accept female students.

Safiye Ali went to Germany to study medicine. He studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Würzburg. Safiye Ali received her diploma in 1921.
Safiye Ali received her diploma in June 1923 as Turkey's first female doctor. She became the first female faculty member to give medical education to girls by giving gynecology and obstetrics courses in the first girls' medical school opened within the American College.

Safiye Ali, who became the head of the Süt Damlası Nursing Home established for children who are weaned from breast milk and deprived of the opportunity to drink sterile milk, brought efficiency to the nursing home with her volunteer work.
