This book can be used to teach students about patterns and cycles that occur in space. Students will learn that the sun rises in one part of the sky and sets in another, and they will see how the moon cycles through phases. They will also learn that all other stars, besides the sun, can only be seen at night.

One night when Jordan was camping with her family, she looked up into the dark night sky covered with lots of stars. Then she noticed something. She couldn't see the moon!

Where was the moon? Would she be able to see it tomorrow night? This made Jordan curious. When she got home the next day, she decided she was going to look for the moon every night.

Four days later, Jordan went outside to look at the moon that night. She had also been drawing a picture in her journal of what it looked like and was going to do that every night.

A few more days passed, and this was what the moon looked like. Jordan noticed that how much of the moon she could see was changing! She could see more of it now. It was a half moon!

Every night, Jordan could see more and more of the moon. One week later, she could see the whole moon! It was a very bright circle in the dark sky. She drew the full moon in her journal.

A few days later, Jordan and her friends set up a tent and a campfire in her backyard. The part of the moon Jordan could see started getting smaller. It was a half moon again.

The part of the moon Jordan could see continued to get smaller and smaller over the next few days until it became a tiny sliver in the sky.

The next night, Jordan went outside to draw the moon. And guess what? She couldn't see it again!
Jordan opened her journal and looked at the pictures she had drawn of the moon each night. This is what it looked like!
