The bond of a girl and a robot.

It is another day in the hospital, people waiting for doctors outside, nurses taking care of old people, doctors going in every room to meet patients. In a hall way on the left next to the nurse counter, a little girl by herself, sitting on a chair, looking at the beautiful view outside the window.

That little girl's name is Fay, she's a shy little girl, she barely talked to anyone. Her parents passed away because of a car accident, and she was left alone, she was still depressed about her parents death, so she's upset all the time. Something also made her life even worse, is the fact that she has cancer.

"Is time to eat your pills."A voice came out of the blue, Fay turned around, and saw Dr. Steven standing by the door. Fay turned around again and cover herself with the blanket.
Seeing Fay ignoring him, then Dr. Steven begged,"Come on Fay, please take the pills, these can help you sooth your pain." Fay shook her head, not saying a thing.

Fay was still ignoring Dr. Steven. Dr. Steven sighed, then he stood up and said," I'll put the pills here, take them later."
Fay heard footsteps were getting further and further. She peeked out of the blanket and saw no one was there, then she sat back up, reaching for the upper shelves for a book.

Dr.Steven pressed the coffee button on the vending machine, he crouched down to reach for the canned coffee, he wouldn't stop worrying about Fay's issue, since he was the doctor in charge to take care of her.
Suddenly, he felt three taps on his shoulder and he turned his head around. It was nurse Maddie, "What are you worrying about ?" Maddie asked . Dr. Steven sighed and explained everything to her.

"Why don't I try and convince her to take her pills?" Maddie said with confidence. Dr. Steven let out a little laugh, and said," I doubt that you can convince her, even I can't convince her." "Well you got a point."said Maddie.
"Well in my opinion, is best for parents to convince their kids." said Maddie while getting her drink, and left. Nurse Maddie's words gave Dr. Steven an idea.

The next day , sunlight shone through the windows. Fay woke up and turned around to check the time. She sat up straight on the bed, the room was quiet as always.
The door opened, it was Dr.Steven. Fay was about to cover herself with the blanket, then Dr.Steven said,"Wait! Fay please listen to me first." Fay sat back up straight, turned her face to Dr.Steven.

Then, She saw a human-sized robot beside the doctor, tilted her head with a confused face."What is that?"She asked "Is a robot I invented since I was twelve and a present I wanted to give you , her name is Ruby." Dr.Steven explained.
The robot said,"Good morning, I'm Ruby,it's nice to meet you."
Fay was shocked when she heard Ruby's voice, that was her mother's voice.

"I put your mother's voice into her voice box, I hope you'll get along, I'll leave you guys here." said Dr.Steven. Ruby nodded, then Dr. Steven walked out of the room.
"What's your name?" said Ruby.
Fay said," I'm.......Fay."

Ruby saw the pills on the table, she turned her head and asked," Why didn't you take them?"" Even....... if I take them, they only soothe the pain, I doubt that the pills can help." Fay explained.
Ruby picked the pills up and gave them to Fay, and said," Please take them, they'll help you, I promise."
Fay looked into Ruby's eyes, She reached out and took one hesitantly, put it in her mouth and grab a glass of water quickly swallowed it.

Fay gulped down the pill, her body felt light, the pain slowly faded away, she took another one from Ruby's hand and gulped it down. And another, and another.
Ruby saw Fay finished the pills, and she showed a bright smile and said,"You did a great job. Feeling more comfortable now?" Fay nodded.

Good Job!
It has been three day since Dr.Steven gave Ruby to Fay, he wanted to make sure they get along with each other. Dr. Steven went to visit her, he knocked on the door, and it was Fay who opened the door!
Fay's face showed a bright smile and said," Good morning, Dr. Steven." He was surprised to see her, he didn't expect her to open the door.

" Good job Fay! Your social skills improved so much!" said Ruby.
Dr. Steven noticed Ruby, and said , " Good morning Ruby." "Good morning Dr. Steven." Ruby replied.
Fay ran back to Ruby, held her hands and said," Ruby can we go outside for a while later?"
"Of course! You can do anything you like." said Ruby.
Fay looked back at Dr. Steven and said," Why don't Dr. Steven come with us too?"
Dr. Steven thought about it, "Sure, why not." he replied.
"Yay!" Fay cheered.

good job!
Fay ran outside to the hospital playground, and started to play with other children.
Ruby and Dr. Steven were sitting in the cafeteria.
Dr. Steven took a sip of coffee, and said," Ruby, what did you do in these past three days?"
"I convinced her to take the pills, seems like those pills soothed her pain, she is happier than usual now." Ruby answered.

Dr. Steven's eyes widened, and asked," She took the pills ?"
"Yes." Ruby answered ,"Miss Fay took her pills."
"That's a relief." Dr. Steven exclaimed. "Thanks to you, she is willing to do that, the other doctors can't convince her at all, even me."
"I'm just doing my job as a healthcare robot."said Ruby.

Dr. Steven looked out the window, and saw Fay was running around playing with other children covered with sweat and a bright smile on her face.
"I've never seen this little girl smile that bright for so long." Dr. Steven thought.
