Belgin KOÇLAR / Kocatepe Primary School

     Atatürk, the great hero of all the times. He was born in Salonica/ GREECE. As a child he was so smart and logical. When he joined the army, nobody could imagine that he would change the destiny of Turkish people with his perfect decisions in Gallipoli.     

     He was so intelligent that he could speak many languages. During his whole life he read 3997 books and wrote nine books. He made many reforms including education, clothing and women right. All the human beings admire him even today.

Kenan KILIÇDERE / Kocatepe Primary School

     Fazıl Say was born in Ankara / Turkey in 1970. He started playing piano at the age of 4. He appeared on TV for the first time at the age of 8 on Children's Day.    

     He played his own composition on that TV programme. In 1995 he came first in a music competition in New York which started his concert career.

     He gave many concerts both in Turkey and in a lot of countries. He is not only a music lover but also interested in art and literature. He is one of the gifted pianists in the world.   

Vita LIGIATO / IC "G. Pagoto"

     Giuseppe Garibaldi was the son of a poor fisherman. Though he was born in France, he considered himself as an Italian person. He is the greatest hero and patriot of Italians.

     He joined Uruguay War voluntarily. During his life he joined many wars and dedicated his life to protect and unify Italy. In 1861 he unified all of Italy and since then Sicily has been a part of Italy.

Selma KORKMAZ / Evliya Çelebi Primary School

     Aziz Sancar was born in Mardin on 8th September 1946. He has 7 siblings ( brothers and sisters). His father was a farmer. His native language is Arabic. But he is Turkish and says always he is Turkish. He has finished primary school and high school in Mardin. 

     He started İstanbul University School of Medicine in 1963. He graduated from Medical Faculty in 1971. He went to the USA to study after his graduation. Then he worked as a doctor in Mardin Savur which is his hometown for two years.      He studied for doctorate at Texas University. His doctorate subject was molecular biology. Aziz Sancar received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2015. He is married to Gwen Boles Sancar who is a professor of biochemistry.
