This is me Williona. I use to like the way I was 

until I started going to school and seeing how 

different I really was.

The color of my skin is dark brown. The other kids 

in my class have white skin. I don't feel the same 

as them.

Sometime when I am not in school I visit my cousin 

Kylie. She has caramel skin. She is mixed with 

black and white.

I don't know why i'm so different than kids in my 

class and my cousin. I decided to ask my mom 

because me feeling different is making me sad.

Williona my mom says, we are all different not just 

you. I have very dark skin because my mom is dark 

and so is my dad; so I came out dark-skinned. Since 

i'm dark-skinned and your dad is light-skinned you 

came out a dark brown.

Why am I the only brown one in my class mom? 

Well it can be a lot of reasons like, the 

neighborhood you live or because there are many 

schools and parents choose where they want to 

send there kids to go.
