I see but I Don't
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wind, Teeth biting down on meat, snarling for food, whimpering for food, and howling, declaring the meal was over. She was in a den.
"Alaska." A whisper spoke next to her. It was her mother. "Alaska." She said again, a bit louder.
Alaska still could not hear her, for many sounds were causing her brain to overheat.
Then, a howl, loud enough to melt ears. Though, Alaska's did not.
"The meal is over." A loud booming voice filled the den.
Alaska could hear many still chewing.
"I said, the meal is over!" The voice echoed through the cave and the only sound Alaska could hear, was "The meal is over" echoing.
Once the echo had stopped, Alaska looked up, though without seeing anything, went over to sit on her mother's lap. She felt cold rocks beneath her fragile paws and bumped into something. It was not her mother. A wolf tapped
her on the shoulder. She quickly looked around, though, again, without seeing anything slowly walked forward. She collapsed into something while trying to gain speed.
"Do you need help, young one?" Alaska knew she could not see so she did not bother looking up but whimpered slowly and softly, as if the one she collapsed to was no longer there. "My mother." Alaska sat down, she thought she was going to be there for a while. But instead the wolf she had collapsed into had his snout so close to her neck, she could feel his air as it breathed on her neck. Then, teeth grabbed
her by the neck, picking her up.
"Alaska!" She could hear the same voice as her mother and started straining to get out of the wolf's grasp. "There you are!" Her mother said again as Alaska fell to the ground and fur from her mother pulled her into her nest. "Mother!" She yelped as she ran into her, as she felt her stub of a tail wag.
"I found her next to the food." The same voice that had howled and that had come for her had come to her memory. The leader had picked Alaska up! "I'm so sorry." Her mother told the leader. "Excuse me?" The leader sounded
astonished by something. "I'm so sorry leader."
Alaska felt teeth pick her up again and this time, she knew it was her mother, for when she landed, she fell softly onto something that felt like straw, soft feathers from birds, and cold, stale, meat.
"There you go." Said she. Alaska slowly walked forward, unknowing what she would bump into.
Alaska had finally picked up speed when she bumped into something not as soft as her mother. But it was her instinct to know, she had
stumbled into her mother's teats. She slowly walked to the right, as she knew she was near her mother because she could feel her mother's warm, soft breath, warming her neck. She felt a bump and accidentally walked past. She moved even slower backward, seeing if she could feel it again. Aha! Alaska thought.
She rotated enough to put her mouth on her mother's teats and drink the warm, fresh milk, from the unknown source. For, Alaska did not know anything. Not even what she was drinking from.
What's This?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Alaska had finished eating-- drinking, I should say, she curled up close to her mother's warm fur and fell asleep extremely quickly. A few hours later, Alaska suddenly woke up. A frog had croaked. The sound of distant cicada's humming filled the den. She figured it was nightfall.
She didn't exactly want to go out and explore at dusk while her mother was still fast asleep. She couldn't bear the thought of going outside and never coming back. Oh, how her mother would sob! She decided to stay in the nest and try to get back to sleep.
Croak! Croak! "That stupid frog!" She thought. She instantly got up from her awkward sleeping position. She decided to get up and just sniff
