Dear Dog Diary,
This is the worst day of my life! My owner got a cat! Yep, I said a
cat! I've got to go see Leia!
Later that day at Leia's house, I told her the news.
"What? Your owner got a cat? That is crazy!" Leia said.
"I'm going home to figure something out," I said to Leia and then I
went home.
I'm going to go to sleep now that I have been writing for five
minutes. That is so long!

3-21-2014
I woke up and I saw a cat laying next to me.
“Wake up!” I shouted at the cat, whose name was George.
George thought I was a monster trying to hurt him. George got
scared, jumped up, and scratched me.
I ran to Alinah’s room and jumped onto her bed.
“What’s wrong, Gus?” Alinah asked.
I turned my head and Alinah saw the small scratch on my face.
I made my best puppy dog face at her even though it didn’t hurt that
much.

Alinah ran downstairs and I followed after her.
Alinah found her mom, Ellen, in the kitchen cooking breakfast and
said, “That terrible cat!”
She pointed to the cat and whined, “We should take George back! Or
give him away!”
Ellen ran over to me and put an ice pack on my face. “Oh, you poor
thing!” she said.
At that moment Zain, Alinah's brother came into the kitchen looking
like a zombie. He walked past me and Ellen.

When he saw my scratch he said, “He’s fine. He can handle a
little scratch.” And then he walked way.
Alinah gave me a big kiss, ran upstairs to get ready for
school, and then left.
I just sat down in Alinah's bed and watched Marmaduke over
and over and over again because it is my favorite movie!

Alinah put a Barbie bandage over my scratched cheek last night and
today it feels all better. Now... payback time for my scratch…
I decided to invite Leia’s cousin’s friend’s skunk over to spray all over
George’s litter box. I knew the smell would drive him crazy!
I went and got the skunk from Leia’s house. The skunk sprayed all
over George’s litter box and then the skunk went home. I had to get
out of the house because it smelled horrible so I slept
overnight at Leia's house.

When I got home in the morning I saw George laying on the floor
with his tongue hanging out of his mouth and his eyes closed
tightly shut. I was sure he was dead from all the skunk fumes!
I ran in and yelled, “Wake up!”.
George jumped up and screamed, “Boo!”
I jumped back, scared.
“Why did you fill my room with skunk spray?” George asked me
with a sneer.

“I did this for payback because you scratched me!” I said
pointing to the band aid on my face.
“I didn’t mean to scratch you but you ran off before I could
explain and apologize,” George said tapping his paw and looking
at the ground, embarrassed. “ I just wanted to know if we could
be friends.”
I walked over to George and said with a smile, “Sure! Come with
me to my best friend, Leia’s house.”
Side by side we walked down to Leia’s house. That’s the story of
our friendship.
