FOr our friend, Kathy Sheppard

This book is dedicated to Kathy, who wasn't able to be with us at Summer Camp in Batumi.  Even so, we felt her presence everywhere! We thank God and the Peace Corps for bringing Kathy to Georgia - and into all of our lives - and for her and the team's work. In Georgian there is a good expression from our Georgian writer, Guram Dochanashvili - დედამიწას სიყვარული ატრიალებს! - which means, "Love turns the Earth!"  Kathy put so much love and heart into Technovation Girls Sakartvelo 2022, and this book was created with love to express our gratitude to her!  Wishing you all the best in your life, Kathy, indefinitely!

sharing some special moments that teams had with Kathy :)  

We met Kathy in Tbilisi. She met us with her friendly and attractive smile. We were impressed by her!

kathy is an amazing person. She makes everbody feel great, and I love her character.

 I have very good moments with Kathy. We met each other at school. She is a very kind and good person!

When she came to our school, she helped us understand everything properly. 

Most special was our meeting, I guess. It was so spontaneous, so in flow and felt so right. 

I remember when Kathy came to our school. I wanted to give up the project because I thought it wasn't for me, but she encouraged me, and I guessed that I should not give up. She is the person who can motivate people. I respect her a lot.  

Being with Kathy is always special, but the day when I first met her in Tskaltubo, when she visited us with Janet, was the best.

When I first met Kathy, I guessed that she would be warm and joyful. She is a very positive person and supports you to be self-confident.  When she and Janet came to Tskaltubo, they heard about our aims, they told us not to give up and to keep moving.

She is the best person.  the warmest and sweetest. I will never forget our first meeting in Tbilisi.  I love her so much. ️

I saw her for the first time when she and Janet organized their first meeting. I remember exactly that it was a cold day, it was snowing, and it was very cold, and Kathy's warmth covered all the coldness. I can say this - she is a very warm person! Then she visited us at school; I got to know her closer, and I realized that she would be this lady, a role model for me

Whenever I had a problem with a project or made a mistake, I would ask Kate, and she would always give me a warm and supportive answer.  Even one of her words could give me hope and comfort.

I showed Kathy and other staff members my team's pitch video, and she responded that she was proud of us - in Georgian. That comment made my week.

 If our teams had some difficulties, she was always with us!

When we had come to Tbilisi, and Kathy met us in the hall, it was so amazing. She was a really open person, with a smile on her face. Me and my girl never forgot her.

We met Kathy in Kutaisi. She was very friendly and warm. 

I remember our first meeting. She was so lovely. I enjoyed communicating with her. When I saw her in Tbilisi again, I wanted to talk to her. I loved her in such a short time, and I was so glad to see her!

She is very kind and warm to everybody! I was so glad when I talked to her, and she hugged me warmly. 

We have best memories with Kathy, when we were too much "weak" at the presentation of our project. And there was Kathy with her sunshine, kind, smiling face, she was a big supporter for as in difficult times.

Kathy opened the pitch event with the Georgian word გამარჯობა and started the event in a funny way. She was so lovely! I can't forget that moment.

There was an activity at pitch event where our team was announced as a winner of the game and we were gifted with sweets. So Kathy shined in our life!  

Kathy is a miracle person! She helped us solve the problems!

Kathy is the most positive person. We feel that you are with us! You are our hope! 

The whole pitch event! I knew how friendly and easy-going she really was, and the day proved it well.

When I had no hope of getting anything out of this project, Kathy came and told me, hey, don't worry, you have the power, follow the plans and don't give up, nothing is impossible. She gave me so much motivation to finish the project and be a camper. Kathy, I love you.  And I will always remember you.

I remember the day at Techno park.

The first time at school and from that moment, she is a comfortable person for me, and I felt like I have known Kathy for for years.

Kathy, dear, it was really amazing to meet you first in our small city, Tskaltubo. and after in Tbilisi. I'm happy to have friend like you.

I will never forget how I got to know Kathy! Because after introducing each other we made friends very soon and our friendship continues till now! It all started from the amazing project Technovation Girls საქართველო! I met her in Tbilisi physically, and my first impression was 'wow, how beautiful she is with the kindest smile'. And later I found out that she is beautiful not only in her appearance, but she has the most beautiful soul as well.

 I met Mrs. Kathy, a warm and noble lady, in YMCA Camp Orange Ureki, when I was giving a presentation about my club and its activities from Ilia University. I immediately felt her support, and I felt that we have the same temperament, purposefulness, creativity.... Then the project was announced, and she herself informed me. This was a great motivation for me... Kathy was by my side until the end and strengthened me....

 Some special things about this camp that we want Kathy to know about.

And our favorite parts of the camp  :)

Our first meeting was in cold, snowy and warm Batumi!  The relationship of the mentors was my favorite part of the camp.   

The special thing I want Kathy to know about camp is - my favourite part of camp is the speech of Neuropsychologist, Nino Margvelashvili.

What about the favorite part of the camp, everything was very good, and I could hardly hold back my tears before leaving the camp. There were especially relevant and pleasant sessions with wonderful speakers. I've learnt a lot from them! 

 Kathy should know that I love her very much! My favorite part is the night party! 

I really want Kathy to know that I love and appreciate her from the first meeting ️ She is a special person.  

All the activities were interesting and funny!  

The special part that I want Katie to know is that I want to be one of them and help the girls find their way. Spending time with the girls was my favorite part of the camp!

I loved everything: lectures, workshops, school - but most importantly, I loved meeting other girls. For example, some of the girls and I directed a play, Romie and Juliet Horror version, which lasted for 5 minutes. 

Everything was special there, but we missed Kathy so much. Guest Speakers and organizers were planned every minute, and there was lots of fun activities. Kahoot game had exceeded expectations. Gifts were amazing. I want to say thank for this opportunity and support to her (Kathy we love you).

❤ We were allowed to go out of the school and we hung out to look around Batumi.

Listening to the presentations was the best part of the camp because there were many good speakers there. I've learned much new and interesting info from them!

Gathering together and having fun was the most favorite part of the camp! 

Recording a video with Salome and David was my coolest part of the camp! It was very funny! I enjoyed it! I will never forget it! I also enjoyed our gathering and having fun in the room.

The camp itself, also sessions, food, activities were wonderful! Actually, I spent the best time there!

Everything was great. The lectures were interesting and, to be honest, somehow helped me to choose my future profession. Also, I really enjoyed meeting and being friends with so many intelligent and enthusiastic girls; it gave me hope for successful future of our country. It was also a lot of fun playing games with girls and mentors. The warm attitude of the organizers made me like this camp even more.

I knew and I was sure that the camp would be amazing because of you! So the camp was really impressive for all of us! I loved every part of it! Just I didn't like one part that you were not with us physically - though I felt you were with us at the same time in your kind heart! :( 

The training course was interesting, and I've learned a lot!

The amazing people that I met there, some may be mentors, team members, or the presenters and the leadership team itself. 

 We all missed you, we wanted you to be there. I met a lot of new friends at the camp, I learned a lot, I didn't want to say anything, and after all, this camp was the best.

We had so much fun, we learned so much, and we met new people.

Kathy should know that she is the best person ever! I enjoyed funny activities of the camp.

I could not go to the camp, but I was happy to see girls and the other mentor so happy and satisfied.

Kathy, I want to tell you that you are good at motivating people! You are my hero! Having fun with friends during lunch was my favourite part of the camp!

Kathy should know that her dream (goals) came true and everything has finished successfully! Everybody was pleased with nice moments! Many good things happened to us in the camp! But dancing and singing with girls and mentors was the most favorite part for me!
