-woodpeckers are apart of the Piciformes an order inside of birds. 

-This means our nutrition mainly comes from Insects fruits and nuts.

-Some birds like hummingbirds like to get their nutrition in another way called Fluid Feeding. 

-Which means to feed on the fluid of another organism like this flower.

-While I'm eating we have to deal with lurking predators who are also hungry like Hawks, Bob cats, and Coyotes. 

-Many of these predators stalk their prey to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike.

-Once I have my Food and eat it my body processes it through a system called 

- extracellular meaning the food is broken down outside the cell mechanically or with an acid called enzymes.

- Birds' digestive tract is very similar to many mammals however they have something called a gizzard which mechanically grids the food they digest since birds don't have teeth. 

-Some birds like me also have something called a crop which acts as a storage container for food.
