
Multiple intelligence

Description:
Multiple intelligences refers to a theory describing the different ways students learn and acquire information. These multiple intelligences range from the use of words, numbers, pictures, and music, to the importance of social interactions, introspection, physical movement, and being in tune with nature.
Example:
While doing a lesson physical education automatically fulfills bodily kinesthetic, incoorpating other intelligences by using music during an activity, going outside, group activity work, etc.
Conferencing

Description:
When a teacher is conferencing with a student or a small group of students, they are working on skills that need to be reinforced or skills that will provide enrichment. Conferences provide individualized instruction for each student.
Example:
Working with a group of students who are having a harder time learning how to shoot the basketball. Giving one-on-one time to talk through it and set goals as stepping stones to improve on their shooting skills.
Field trip

Description:
trips that school districts offer to enhance or supplement the educational experience of students. Field trips include events or activities where students leave the school grounds for curriculum-related study or outdoor education.
Example:
Going on a field trip to a hiking trial. Allows students to be outside and active while also teaching them about the safety of staying hydrated and more. Also gives opportunities for science teachers to talk about plants and animals seen.
Hands-on learning

Description:
another term for experiential learning, where individuals immerse themselves in a subject to learn. Students learn from partaking in activities rather than passively reading a book or attending a lecture.
Example:
Actively having students participate in all activities. If students are playing football having each person have a turn to throw the ball instead of watching examples of how todo it.
Learning centers

Description:
a self-contained section of the classroom in which students engage in independent and self-directed learning activities. A learning center is a space set aside in the classroom that allows easy access to a variety of learning materials in an interesting and productive manner.
