Today is Olivia's first day of school! She is going to be in 1st grade. Her mom decided to wake her up by running into her room and shouting "WOO HOO! IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! IT’S TIME TO GET UP, OLIVIA, IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!”

Olivia's mom is right, it is the first day of school, but Olivia is not nearly as excited as her mom. In fact, she's not excited at all.

Olivia isn't excited about first grade because she doesn't know what to expect. She thinks it will be very different from Kindergarten.

She has so many questions about first grade that she can't answer. Will her teacher be nice? What if the food in the cafeteria tastes yucky? Will her classmates want to be her friend?

Even though Olivia is scared, she decided to be brave and get ready for her first day of school. Wearing her favorite green dress makes her feel a little bit better.

Once Olivia was ready for the day, her mom drove her to school. Olivia still feels very nervous.

When Olivia and her mom arrived at school, they walked to the door together. 

Olivia's mom gave her a huge hug and said, "Don't worry, you will have a great day at school! I love you". That makes Olivia feel a little bit better.
