HI!  My name is Trevor.  I am special.  I am different but you would never know just by looking at me.  I like to play with my friends, eat good food and I go to school just like everyone else.

What makes me different from everyone else is that I have something called autism.  That means my brain works differently and I sometimes do or say things that other people do not understand.

I am really a nice boy though.  Having autism means my brain works differently so sometimes I get super mad if I do not understand what is happening around me or why something has changed.  I will scream or cover my ears or run away if something upsets me.  

When this happens, do not be scared or make fun of me.  I am okay.  I just need some time to be me again so I can continue playing with my friends.  I cannot help when this happens.  It is just how my brain handles change or things I do not understand very well.
