Hello, I'm Nefertiti. I was born into royalty which meant the norm was for me to lay around and be quite and let the king rule, but I don’t agree. instead I want to use my Voice and speak my mind.

I was born in 1370b.c.e. in Egypt . I sadly passed when I was 40 in 1330b.c.e. Let’s not think to much about that though. I had a husband named Amenhotep Akhenaten the fourth. I had 6 beautiful daughters. We lived in the 18th Dynasty of Egypt.

If you grew up in Egypt like I did you’d understand there were a lot of fun things as a kid to do like juggling, swimming, rowing, and dancing.  Being a royal as a kid we are  not usually allowed to participate in the activities. women could own their own business and property, they  could allow serve witness in a court and can get divorced. The story is different for royals though royal women don’t have many choices in how they live

For queens we are only seen as someone who was there for their husbands not for there mind. I wanted to be different. I wanted my thoughts to be known and respected. I wanted people to listen to me and follow my commands. So I made it possible  

one of my first things I did as queen was change the religion my family believed in. Egyptians believed in multiple gods but I only believed in one it was Aten the sun god. Everyone thought my husband made the change but I did. One thing that made my marriage work so well was that my husband always supported me to have my own thoughts. 

Sometimes I made little power moves to remind everyone I was the one in charge. Like when i would worship our god alone which is something a queen never could do. which is one reason I’m know for my courageousness. I’m  known for my beauty but that has nothing to do with me being courageous it’s all natural!

I also created a new city with my husband. We named it Amarna  and we dedicated to our cult. We thought that if we made a whole city for our cult we could belong somewhere. My husband constantly emphasized that all of this was my idea.
