Your child's learning environment is safe and welcoming but can also invite infection and illness. The cause of these infectious diseases is known as microorganisms.
These germs are easily spread and can lead to illness, this is caused by playing with toys, hugging, laughing, crying, diapering, toileting, eating, and even breathing (Groark & Song, 2012).

1. Infection prevention -
This is a team effort for staff members. We must ensure immunizations are up to date, and for parents, you need to know when your child should stay home when they are sick and contagious.

2. Hand hygiene -
Keeping your hands clean helps prevent the spread of infection. Especially after using the bathroom, sneezing, cleaning a runny nose, and playing outside.

3. Cleaning and disinfection -
This should be done throughout the day on highly used and touched surfaces.

4. Food safety -
Proper handling, preparation, and storage are essential to stop the spread of food-borne illnesses.

Communicable diseases are infectious diseases that are transmitted among individuals. Some communicable diseases are more common in early childhood than at any other time of life. (Groark & Song, 2012)
chickenpox
Hepatitis A
Influenza
Measles
Mumps
Whooping Cough
