Many years had passed since Sun Lily was a little child. Now, nearly fully grown, she still lives with her wild companion, Winston. They have had many adventures since their infamous journey to the tree queens' domains. And so, Sun Lily, although no longer a child still continues to grow, blossom, and bloom. And the years pass quickly...
It all began on a sunny morning, as the rays of the glorious sun cast down on Sun Lily's hair. She sat on a hard stone next to Winston, the wolf, and his friend Whitson. At first, it would appear that they were talking to nobody, but if one squinted their eyes, they would see a faint outline of a face, and then the rest of what would appear a human.
"My goodness, Merciful!" Sun Lily laughed, her voice twinkling, making everything appear brighter. "Don't tell me that you scared that poor man out of his wits by asking him if he liked his root drink!"
"Ah, yes. Being simply a voice does have its highs,"
"Pardon me," said Winston in his accented voice, "But Sun Lily, it seems as though we have a problem. Some wolves recently spoke of a wolf that has been causing trouble up North? Perhaps I misread that, but it looks like we must head up there as quickly as possible."
"Oh, but of course," said Merciful in her airy voice. "I understand. Will we talk later, darling?" she said to Sun Lily.
"Oh, but of course, dah-ling!" Sun Lily mimicked back, with a smile.
So, the pair left their friends. Sun Lily hopped onto Winston and grabbed his fur. Winston reared up, and ran at full speed, only taking short breaks in between the long hours. When they arrived up north, the first thing that they saw was a wolf. It stood on a large hill and overlooked all below it.
"Well," Sun Lily began. "It looks like a... a... nice wolf."
Winston smiled slightly, and nudged Sun Lily.
"We both know that there is no such thing as a nice wolf."
The wolf seemed to be directing orders to the town-wolves. Soldiers began to follow orders from her, their heads low, and their shoulders back.
"What is happening?" Winston asked one wolf in their language.
"She is forcing people to follow her against their will."
"How? Can't you rebel?"
"No. She has an army. Not only that, but she has been planning for centuries."
"Wolf, I command you! Stop what you are doing!" Sun Lily shouted to the seemingly prideful creature.
The wolf laughed. "You? Command me? How amusing, Sun Lily!"
"I do not even know you, wolf! How do you know my name?" Sun Lily queried.
"You know me very well. Do you remember that voice that called you South to Winston's hollow?" The wolf chuckled sinisterly. "That was me. Poor, ignorant, Sun Lily! How have you not put the pieces together? It was all part of my plan?"
"What?" Poor Sun Lily gasped. "Gracious!"
"The dragon army that rebelled against Winston's pack? My army. I had decided that when you would help Winston defeat my army, you would be captured in the process. Queen Oakley was supposed to turn you in. But she did not."
Sun Lily paled and turned to Winston.
"She states things so solidly."
"Oakley pitied you, and she did not turn you in. Ivy was frightened of you. And Merciful helped you. My whole plan had been destroyed!"
"Good," Sun Lily whispered.
The wolf's head shot straight to Sun Lily.
"You are alive because of me,"
Winston shook his head. "Now, that's where you are wrong. We are all alive because of the Creator."
"I don't have time to argue with you. My ARMY!" She screamed.
The trees around her began to stir and started reaching towards Sun Lily and Winston. Sun Lily ran to the right and Winston ran to the left, but both were not fast enough. A familiar green tree grasped Sun Lily and
a recognizable violet-colored one grabbed Winston.
"Oakley?" Sun Lily gasped. "How can you be a part of this?"
"I am fully loyal to Her Majesty. It really would turn out better for you if you obeyed her."
"Why, how can you not feel guilty?" Sun Lily exclaimed.
So quietly, so that only Sun Lily could hear, Oakley murmured, "I do feel guilty."
"Then please," Sun Lily said urgently. "Come with us."
"You do not stand a chance against her."
